TESTIMONIALS

Just wanted to say that we really enjoyed our climb with Justin Day on 9/12/08. Justin was great. He was skilled, patient, very thorough, upbeat and encouraging—everything you’d expect in a guide. Plus he is a fun guy to be with on the mountain.

I had a really good experience with the intro to lead class on the weekend with Ana and Chad. I just wanted to say thank and I enjoyed it (even when frustrated and realizing just how much I have to learn) and that I thought the instruction (Chad) did a great job and was really patient.

Best wishes,
Amy

Hi Chad (and Tom),

It's been couple weeks since I've had that wonderful experience participating in your training program. I just wanted to thank you once again for hospitality and professionalism, as well as patience teaching me valuable skills. I keep telling my friends how great the weekend course was and many are contemplating to visit Seneca Rocks soon.

Warm regards,
Vlad

Guys,

Well, I'm back workin' for the 'man'................but, I wanted to let you folks know (Justin, esp.) what a great experience I had on the rock. A unique learning experience combined with exhilaration, a bit (smile) of apprehension and awe! And added to all of that was the professionalism and expertise of my guide — and the great hospitality. My mind may be at work — but, my heart hasn't come home yet. I got some great pics and will cherish them - however, this isn't the last you've seen of me. I'll be in touch to schedule another day (or weekend if the family comes) and we're going back up.

It was a pleasure meeting everyone.

Peace,
Tom

Thanks for the great training. Kat and I were successful in our lead climb up Old Mans Route yesterday. I felt well prepared to place protection and to build anchors and Kat was set to remove gear and handle the anchor transitions. We also felt confident in stacking and handling the rappel off of the double rope at the Traffic Jam rappel. . . .

We will see you folks towards the end of September.

Thanks again,
Jim

"If someone were to write a book about Tom, Bain, and Auggie, the time spent with Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides would be the climax in their coming-of-age chapter. Climbing Seneca seems to have given each of my sons a huge boost of self-confidence and ( more important to me ) a sense of brotherhood that goes beyond just sharing the same parents.

They were a team for two days on that rock. If their behavior yesterday is any indication, they are team for life. Yesterday there were no fights for the front seat, no stealing of each others stuff, and no teasing. I give you all the credit for this-

My tears as I watched my sons ascend and descend Seneca were not of fear, but rather the bittersweet tears for the passing of their boyhood. They are not my babies anymore. They are young men who climb mountains."

Thank you,
Debbie Graff

I wanted to thank you and Justin for a great time at Seneca Rocks. I honestly thought with my disability I would have a much more difficult time but was pleasantly surprised. The instruction was great and we both really enjoyed learning not only how to climb but the various types, the history, etc.

"I took one of your climbing courses at Seneca over the weekend that just passed and was thrilled with the overall quality of the course. Our guide, Josh, was great at teaching us all that we wanted to know and answering all of our questions. He has great interpersonal skills and managed to make us all feel very comfortable and gain a lot of confidence in our climbing abilities. He truly made the difference in all of us having an amazing experience that will hopefully carry over in our future climbing. I have been thinking for a while about taking a lead climbing course. There is now no doubt in my mind that I will do that probably towards the end of the summer and that your school, and Josh, will be my choice for this course. Thanks for putting together such a great staff. Everybody was very helpful and enthusiastic. I will definitely recommend your school to some of my friends. Hope you're having fun guiding and climbing!"

"We just wanted to take a moment to express our appreciation for our wonderful experience climbing at Seneca Rocks. We climbed... with Doug Downs as a guide/instructor. Doug was great! He challenged us while helping instill confidence in our abilities and willingness to push our limits. While we both have a few years experience climbing indoor walls, this in no way prepare us for the rigors of climbing real rock. We had never experienced the height and exposure. Doug guided us through an experience we would have never attempted on our own. His patience and reassurance were appreciated....Sue tried to remember an appropriate quote at the summit: 'I do not intend to tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at death.' "

"I wanted to echo the sentiments of my friends/teamates who climbed with Josh over the weekend. The course and Josh were amazing! He was great about structuring the two days of instruction to fit our goals. I complimented him on treating us like we were friends and not clients. His friendly, positive, can-do attitude; genuine desire to meet his 'friends' expectations; technical expertise; ability to communicate; and attention to detail/safety made for an incredible weekend. He had the challenge of working with a group of 4 (rather than 3) and went out of the way to make sure we all had a chance to practice everything that he taught, which meant going beyond the call of duty and spending a little extra time with us, which I really appreciated. Because of my experience, I am very interested in taking additional classes with Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides and Josh in particular. I would also recommend your school to any interested friends. Grilling, hanging out, and having a few beers on your deck Saturday night also added to the ...experience of a great weekend. Everyone was super-friendly. Thanks much to you and Josh and the rest of your team!"

"I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much I enjoyed the SRMG beginner rock climbing class on June 7th and 8th. Justin was our climbing instructor/guide, and he did an incredible job of preparing us for our climb and selecting an appropriate route to suit our skill level. I was very impressed with your facility and so pleased that although it rained on our first day, we were able to cover everything indoors. I still cannot believe how much we were able to do in two days without feeling rushed...I plan to return to Seneca Rocks later this year to do some more climbing and expand on what I've leaned (with your guides of course). Thank you and Justin for helping me reach my goals."

"I wanted to thank you guys for a great time.  I know that at the end of three days
together we just kind of said 'see ya'.   Well, when I got home i felt like there should
have been more said.  So I'm gonna say something now.  I just want you to know that you have
made a life changing impact on my life.  Those three days turned out to be
some of the most memorable days of my life, and thats because of you two...
Thanks again for a great time."

"I do appreciate the break you have extended us...I have guaranteed them the
experience and accomplishment of a lifetime.  If their experience is half as
good as ours was it will be an overwhelming success.  I look forward to
seeing you and your operation again.  My son, Dan, has been forever touched
by our Spring outing and hopes to work for you next summer perhaps.  His
Eagle Scout project is to build a bouldering wall for one of the local scout
camps here in Fauquier County.
Thanks again
Regards"
