Amga climbing wall instructor
​
The Climbing Wall Instructor Program (CWI) was introduced to certify professionals who teach in an indoor or artificial wall environment. It aims to increase the level of professionalism in indoor climbing and to improve the level of climbing wall instruction.

Course prerequisites:

AMGA Professional Membership
-
18 years of age at the time of the course
-
At least one year documented personal climbing experience
-
Ability to comfortably climb 5.7 (top rope cert.) or 5.9 (lead cert.)

Ability to utilize belay devices, tie figure eight knots and understand the use of personal climbing equipment

PCGI Single Pitch Guide
The Single-Pitch Guide Course (SPG) is designed for guiding and instructing in Single-Pitch lead climbing terrain with up to 2 clients. It introduces new belay techniques, technical rescue, and group facilitation skills.
Course prerequisites:
-
18 years of age at the time of the course
-
Comfortable lead climbing 5.6 traditional and sport climbing routes
-
Capable of using traditional climbing protection to build standard anchors
-
Lead climbing experience of at least two years. Prior top-rope guiding experience strongly suggested

Working knowledge of knots and hitches

Ability to provide personal climbing equipment

PCGI Top Rope guide
The Top Rope Guide Course (TRG) is designed as a introductory level Top Rope rock climbing guide training program. No lead climbing is conducted during the TRG by participants. Topics include anchor extensions, top and bottom managed sites, belayed rappels, applicable rescue techniques, and group facilitation skills.

Experience with natural and artificial anchors

Risk Management Seminars
Generations of traditional climbers have perfected their climbing technique on top rope. While top roping can provide a measure of safety and security, developing the necessary skills from the beginning is a must! In this course you'll learn the skills needed to effectively climb on your own at a top rope site. We utilize a variety of sites for this course, including Seneca Rocks, Nelson Rocks, Coopers Rock and other quality top rope sites in the region.
